Country Walks: Alex

Once upon a time there was a boy called Alex.

He liked walking and travelling; this is where he would go.

I found it and took some pictures.

Happy New Year

Freedom!

Just realised how cool it'd be to be a freelance photographer as a career. Great, it's really fun and I'm fairly good at it. Well that's just my opinion, I got good results on my recent photography project though; so maybe some other people agree with me?

With photography there's so much freedom.

It's not just a quick snap or a favourite family photo.

There's so much skill to it, crafting art with every press of the shutter.

With every smile brings improvement.

Constantly evolving into so much more.

Not only developing negatives but stories and letting people be seen.

Video's too; with a click of that red button,

As if like magic the movement captured,

Now being more than a blurred shutter speed, or waves of light,

This is our art form.

Here to stay.

To be shared,

To be loved,

Bringing wonder to those who find it.

Enjoy the freedom your camera brings.

Merry Christmas for those who celebrate it, if not have a wonderful New Years.

May 2016 bring joy and love to you all.

Teaching You My Art

This Is How I Capture The Beauty Around Me

Shutter Speed: Camera Magic

This one is creates a similar effect to the Camera Magic photoshoot but the technique is slightly different.

Get your camera

Change the shutter speed to around 1/250

Focus your camera

Make sure the subject is still

Then move the camera slightly

Silhouettes

Turn the flash off

Make sure the light source is behind your subject

Have your camera on the shutter speed priority mode and change it so it best suits your surroundings.

Stay still, or use a tripod, if your camera moves slightly - like mine did your silhouette will not be as crisp.

Shadows

Get a hard light

Place it above or directly in front of your subject

Turn the flash off

Auto is fine, so just experiment with different angles, compositions and colours ect.

2015 in Photographs

My Favourite Photographs From The Year

I started my blog in April and ever since then have saved all my photoshoots onto the laptop, now my storage is nearly full and I'm going to have to delete some. Sad times, okay I might be exaggerating slightly but as a photographer each image has a story. These stories, at least for me, are deeply embedded into the photograph and effect how I see each one.

From April to December 2015.

Speaking of photography, I've got my first photography mock exam tomorrow. 5 hours tomorrow and 5 hours next week. Wish me luck :)
